2006 Articulation / Part.3 Honours Dissertation

project/
Articulation is an exploration challenging the traditional demarcations between type and image in the search for confluence between the written and visual language, within the context of graphic design.

It explores the technological impact of methods of communication and the potential to represent abstract ideas. It discusses the advanced reading requirements of contemporary mediums, and the advancing ability an audience has to read or decode information. Articulation questions how text and image might be encoded within design.

Through experimental photography, typography and motion capture it seeks to shift conventional boundaries to explore unique methods of expressing and integrating written and visual information.
